Flying Fort Flay Feeble Foes

Thanks to the efforts of Senator Malky’s distant relations, the 100th Camanachd Cup Final was won by Fort William at Inverness on Saturday. Cheered on by a crowd of 4,000, the event which is sometimes known as the ’Whisky Olympics’, saw just the three decapitations, 6 assaults, 23 broken bones, 12 dislocated kneecaps, all in all a very quiet game for the ref. The Inverary team were soundly beaten 3-1 and have now been deported by village elders. It was a different story in Fort William where the celebrations lasted long into the evening, anyone found sober in the streets was given a stern talking to by police.
