THE DOG’S POLLOKS AND PERTHQUAKE

(Reggae) hats off to Pollok fans on Saturday, who apparently had a large flag with Bob Marley in the middle of it at their Scottish Cup tie against St Cuthbert’s. That’s what we like to see, completely random weird stuff on big flags, if it works as well as TGPOTCTASC flag, then we can expect to see Pollok at Hampden in May. Their comfortable 6-2 win also led to the song: ‘We’re only nine games from Europe’, which is also an early contender for Song of the Season.

Elsewhere, sad news from Perth, where the St Johnstone tea-lady Aggie Moffat is hanging up her kettle. Aggie is most famous for her run in with thon mild mannered Graeme Souness when he was the Rangers manager. She obviously inspired the Tractor Drivers to a 4-1 win over high flying Accies. Can there be an other manager in any other sport anywhere in the world who would dedicate a win to a retiring tea lady? According to Owen ‘Oweny’ Coyle: ‘I think the inspiration came from wanting to win it for Aggie’. I think ‘WIN IT FOR AGGIE’ should be put above the players tunnel at the Old McDiarmid Had A Farm Stadium, it will surely have the same effect as ‘THIS IS ANFIELD’, and put the shyters right up the opposition.
